Baseball Recap: Horizon Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Horizon Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 16-3 to the Peachtree Academy Panthers. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 14-2.

Cade Mathis was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Horizon Christian Academy now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Peachtree Academy, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 4-7 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Horizon Christian Academy will challenge Lanier Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lightning have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Peachtree Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Westminster Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
