Football Recap: Bonneville Takes a Loss

Bonneville extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-2. They were dealt a 53-20 defeat at the hands of the Stansbury Stallions. The Lakers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-13.

As for Stansbury, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 39.5 points this season.

A big part of Stansbury's victory came down to the chemistry between Brighton Reutzel and his top target Lincoln Reutzel. Brighton threw for 267 yards and five touchdowns while Lincoln picked up 109 receiving yards and three TDs. Those three receiving touchdowns gave Lincoln a new career-high.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bonneville will head out to face off against Wasatch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stansbury, they will venture away from home to take on Uintah at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
