Football Game Preview: Bell Griffins vs. Cardozo Clerks + How To Watch

Bell has gone 9-1 against Cardozo recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Griffins will welcome the Clerks at 6:00 p.m. Bell is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.

Bell is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of District of Columbia's top teams: Ron Brown, who was ranked 21st at the time (Bell was ranked tenth). The Griffins simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Monarchs 48-0. The Griffins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by 24 points or more this season.

Bell can attribute much of their success to Antonio Washington, who gained 107 total yards and three touchdowns, and Will Hewitt, who threw for 201 yards and four TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes. Those four passing touchdowns gave Hewitt a new career-high. Zonique Landon helped Hewitt out on the ground, rushing for 106 yards on only six carries.

Bell was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 239 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Cardozo's offense. They took a blow against Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering on Thursday, falling 56-0. The loss continues a trend for the Clerks in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost six in a row.

Cardozo's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Bell, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
