Football Recap: Elkhart Comes Up Short

Elkhart fell victim to Wichita County and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 60-0 loss at the hands of the Indians. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost four in a row.

Cashton Young was a one-man wrecking crew For Wichita County. as he rushed for 144 yards and three TDs on only 14 carries, and also threw for 111 yards and one touchdown on only five passes. What's more, Young racked up 143.8 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Dylan Luna was another key player, rushing for 27 yards and a pair of scores.

Elkhart's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Wichita County, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elkhart will face off against Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wichita County, they will square off against Stanton County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
