Mechanicsburg dropped down to 7-2 on Friday, ending the team's six-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Northeastern Jets, falling 52-26. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Mechanicsburg's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Conley Bogard, who threw for 255 yards and three TDs.

As for Northeastern, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1. Considering they have won six matchups by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northeastern to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cody Houseman, who rushed for 185 yards and three touchdowns. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Houseman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jacoby Newman, who gained 86 total yards and three touchdowns.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mechanicsburg will face off against rival West Liberty-Salem at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Northeastern is set to take on their familiar foe Triad at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
