Baseball Recap: Pace Academy Takes a Loss

Pace Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Riverwood Raiders. On the bright side, the eight- run performance marked the Knights' highest-scoring game to date.

Davis Morrison was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those hits marked the first that he has got this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Nelson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Pace Academy's record now sits at 1-4. As for Riverwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Pace Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Holy Innocents Episcopal at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Riverwood, they will venture away from home to face off against Woodstock at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
