Soccer Game Preview: Half Moon Bay vs. Carlmont

Half Moon Bay is 0-7 against Carlmont since January of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Half Moon Bay Cougars will host the Carlmont Scots at 4:30 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Half Moon Bay is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Saturday. They came up short against Woodside, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 738th, while the Wildcats are ranked 162nd).

Meanwhile, Carlmont came up short against Aragon on Saturday and fell 3-1.

Half Moon Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-1. As for Carlmont, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4-1 record this season.

Half Moon Bay suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Carlmont when the teams last played back in February of 2022. Can Half Moon Bay avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
