With a playoff win on the line, Chino rose to the challenge on Thursday. They really took it to the United Christian Academy Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up an 84-44 win. The Cowboys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Chino got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tess Oldenburg out in front who dropped a double-double with 26 points and 16 rebounds. Oldenburg has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more blocks the last 11 times she's played. London Gibbs was another key player, putting up 17 points and three steals.

Chino was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Natalie Estrada and Gigi Marquez certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Estrada posted 22 points along with five boards and three steals, while Marquez scored 12 points. What's more, Estrada also racked up three blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2024.

Chino pushed their record up to 21-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for United Christian Academy, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-7.

Coming up, Chino will square off against Corona del Mar at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Corona del Mar will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Chino surely won't give up without a fight. United Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
