Basketball Recap: South Spartans vs. Hart Hawks
South and Hart squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but South had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Hart Hawks by a score of 41-38. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2015.
Hart got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Morgan Mack out in front who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mack has scored at least a third of Hart's points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Koebel, who posted eight points and seven boards.
South's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-11. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points over those games. As for Hart, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.
South does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hart, they have already played their next game, a 67-64 loss against Palos Verdes on the 19th.
