Football Recap: Sacred Heart Knights vs. Ellsworth Bearcats
Sacred Heart had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were outmatched by the Ellsworth Bearcats and fell 49-8. The matchup on Friday was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Knights struggled afterwards.
When it comes to explaining why Sacred Heart lost, don't look at Noah Hines. Despite the final result, he picked up 167 receiving yards and one touchdown. Hines' longest reception was for an incredible 85 yards.
Ellsworth got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Carson Jacobs out in front who rushed for 166 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries. Those 166 rushing yards gave Jacobs a new career-high. Tucker Goss was another key player, rushing for 133 yards and two TDs on only 13 carries.
Sacred Heart has already played their next game, a 51-7 loss against Plainville on the 12th. As for Ellsworth, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 40-16 victory against Republic County on the 12th.
