Preview: Port Allegany Gators vs. Bradford Owls
Port Allegany is 6-0 against Bradford since January of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Port Allegany Gators' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Bradford Owls at 7:15 p.m. on January 22nd. Hopefully Port Allegany focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
Last Friday, Port Allegany beat Coudersport 41-32.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Port Allegany to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kayleigha Dowell, who scored 16 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Moses, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Bradford's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 54-34 defeat at the hands of DuBois. Bradford has struggled against DuBois recently, as their contest on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Port Allegany has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Bradford, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-9.
Port Allegany beat Bradford 41-33 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Port Allegany since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
