Recap: Bayard Rustin Golden Knights vs. Sun Valley Vanguards
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Penn, the Bayard Rustin Golden Knights were happy to have found some success on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 54-38 win over Sun Valley. Given Bayard Rustin's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while Sun Valley is ranked 312th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Riley Stackhouse was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. She hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Gia DiMichele, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Bayard Rustin's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Sun Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
Bayard Rustin won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Great Valley at 6:45 p.m. on January 30th. Great Valley is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Sun Valley, they will face off against Collegium Charter at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
