Basketball Recap: St. Mary's Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

If Creighton wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played St. Mary, they should've done a better job of containing Gage Hedstrom. The St. Mary's Cardinals really took it to the Creighton Bulldogs for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-33 win thanks in part to Hedstrom, who posted 21 points along with seven assists and five steals. Those seven assists gave him a new career-high.

St. Mary's is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which lines up perfectly with their 12-4 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 39.7 points. As for Creighton, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-11.

As for Creighton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Central at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Central will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Creighton surely won't give up without a fight.
