Baseball Recap: Des Lacs-Burlington Has No Trouble Against Surrey

Des Lacs-Burlington barely beat Surrey the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lakers were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Mustangs on Friday. Considering the Lakers have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Des Lacs-Burlington is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Surrey, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-8.

Looking ahead, Des Lacs-Burlington will face off against Velva/Drake/Anamoose at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Aggies' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Lakers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Surrey does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
