Football Game Preview: Shawnee Heights Thunderbirds vs. Lansing Lions + How To Watch

The Shawnee Heights Thunderbirds will head out on the road to face off against the Lansing Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Shawnee Heights will be strutting in after a win while Lansing will be coming in after a loss.

Shawnee Heights is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Seaman on Friday. The Thunderbirds strolled past the Vikings with points to spare, taking the game 20-3. The 20-point effort marked the Thunderbirds' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Brody Daniels was nothing short of spectacular: he picked up 80 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 72 yards.

Meanwhile, Lansing had to suffer through a 44-13 loss at the hands of Piper.

Shawnee Heights will have to contain Jaxon Pollard as he made an impact in Lansing's last game. He rushed for 132 yards and a pair of scores. Lansing is 2-1 when Pollard posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise. Kieron Broadway also helped out with an impressive 80 receiving yards.

Lansing's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Shawnee Heights, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-4 record.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Shawnee Heights has been excellent in the air this season, having averaged 340.2 passing yards per game. It's a different story for Lansing, though, as they've been averaging only 154.7 passing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant passing game?
