Basketball Preview: Carmel Padres vs. Seaside Spartans
The Carmel Padres will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Seaside Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Carmel has now lost 18 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 29.
On Monday, Carmel was beaten by the Bruins 61-29. Carmel was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-14.
Despite their defeat, Carmel saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Avery Palshaw, who scored five points along with three blocks, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Savanna Radowicz, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Seaside had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They skirted past Stevenson 39-36.
Carmel dropped their record down to 1-20 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Seaside, their victory bumped their record up to 9-12.
