Baseball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Dominion Christian's 17th in Last 19 Outings

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Dominion Christian walked away with it. They won by a run and slipped past the Piedmont Academy Cougars 5-4.

Dominion Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabe Buckner, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Dominion Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Piedmont Academy, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-12.

Dominion Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair will be back at it again later today.
