Football Recap: Central Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Central unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Sunnyslope Vikings on Friday, falling 53-0.

Sunnyslope was led to victory by Royce Vanacore and Kelton Rogers. Vanacore rushed for 82 yards and one TD on only six carries, while Rogers rushed for 113 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries. Rogers got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 67 yards.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central will welcome Vista Grande at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sunnyslope, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Notre Dame Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
