Basketball Game Preview: Lyons Lions vs. Dawson School Mustangs

Two dominant guards in Caleb Christiansen and Milo Richtel are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Lyons Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dawson School Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lyons has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Lyons is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 78-53 margin over Front Range Christian on Friday. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Dawson School was beaten by Bishop Machebeuf 85-32 on Thursday. The match marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Lyons has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points per game. As for Dawson School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Lyons didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Dawson School in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 74-69 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Dawson School's Isaiah Tu, who went 12 for 22 en route to 33 points and five rebounds.
