Basketball Recap: Half Moon Bay Beats Terra Nova for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Half Moon Bay waltzed into their game on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 46-40 W against the Terra Nova Tigers. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Half Moon Bay to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zoey Lemoge, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds. The matchup was Lemoge's third in a row with at least 19 points. Delaney Dorwin was another key player, going 6-for-12 on her way to 15 points and seven boards.

Half Moon Bay smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Terra Nova still got an impressive performance from Gabby Dyogi, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 16 points. That's the most points Dyogi has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mariyah Mahasin, who earned eight points.

Half Moon Bay pushed their record up to 18-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Terra Nova, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-10.

Coincidentally, Half Moon Bay and Terra Nova will both be playing King's Academy the next time they take the court. Terra Nova will head out to face King's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 22nd, while Half Moon Bay will host them at 6:00 p.m. on February 25th.
