Baseball Game Preview: Hackensack Comets vs. Leonia Lions

The Hackensack Comets will square off against the Leonia Lions at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Neither Hackensack nor Leonia posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

On Tuesday, Hackensack came up short against Teaneck and fell 7-2. The Comets haven't had much luck with the Highwaymen recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Hackensack saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jambie Castillo, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

Meanwhile, Leonia fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Lyndhurst on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Bears by a score of 3-2. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by just one run.

Hackensack's defeat dropped their record down to 11-16-1. As for Leonia, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.
