Soccer Recap: Amundsen Comes Up Short

Amundsen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Taft Eagles. While losing is never fun, Amundsen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 337th, while Taft are ranked fourth).

Amundsen's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7-2. As for Taft, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Amundsen is set to take on their familiar foe Solorio at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Taft will face off against rival Lane Tech at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few goals on average (Taft 0.5, Lane Tech 0.3) so any goals scored will be well earned.
