Soccer Recap: Oxnard Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Oxnard couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Thousand Oaks Lancers by a score of 2-1 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Lancers are ranked 15th).

Oxnard's goal came courtesy of Jennifer Salas, who's now up to ten this season.

Oxnard's loss dropped their record down to 15-3. As for Thousand Oaks, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.

Oxnard does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Thousand Oaks, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Ayala on the 18th.
