With a playoff win on the line, Otay Ranch rose to the challenge on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 45-29 victory over the Bishop's Knights. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their 12th in a row.

Otay Ranch's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maleah Porch, who posted 13 points in addition to eight boards and six assists. That's the most rebounds Porch has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Elisa Cruz, who earned 12 points along with five boards and three steals.

Otay Ranch smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in 12 consecutive matches.

Kamaili Lasua and Margo Leong certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Lasua dropped a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds, while Leong scored four points in addition to ten boards and three blocks. Leong has become a key player for Bishop's: the team is 18-9 when she posts at least eight rebounds, but 1-3 otherwise.

Otay Ranch's record now sits at 26-5. As for Bishop's, they moved to 19-12 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Otay Ranch didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-44 defeat against King/Drew on the 4th. As for Bishop's, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 50-39 loss against Culver City on the 4th.
