Baseball Game Preview: Caston Comets vs. North Miami Warriors

The Caston Comets will take on the North Miami Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Caston is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.

Caston is returning to their home field after beating North Miami on theirs, despite the fact North Miami has dominated at home this season. The Comets walked away with an 8-5 win over the Warriors on Friday.

Logan Mollenkopf and Brodie Howard made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Mollenkopf struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Howard pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Mollenkopf went 2-for-5 with two runs and one triple, while Howard went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, London Herd was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. Gavin Mollenkopf was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.

Caston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive contests.

Caston's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for North Miami, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-12.

Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Caston hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .363. However, it's not like North Miami struggles in that department as they've averaged .342. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
