Softball Recap: Monarch Takes a Loss

If Monarch was riding high fresh off their 13-0 takedown of Mountain Range on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Coyotes lost 11-2 to the Niwot Cougars on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Coyotes of the 7-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Monarch saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Harper Lastick, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Monarch's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Niwot, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-6.

Monarch has already played their next matchup, a 14-0 loss against Broomfield on the 18th. As for Niwot, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-5 defeat against Horizon on the 18th.
