Softball Recap: Chatfield Takes a Loss

If Chatfield was feeling good fresh off their 16-8 takedown of Legacy on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chargers fell just short of the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Chatfield saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Annabelle Beikmann, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Beikmann is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Chatfield's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Mountain Vista, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-8 record this season.

Chatfield will square off against Valor Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Chargers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Mountain Vista, they will take on Chaparral at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
