Preview: Hermantown Hawks vs. North Branch Vikings
The Hermantown Hawks will square off against the North Branch Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hermantown is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Last Saturday, Hermantown didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Denfeld, but they still walked away with a 10-6 victory.
Meanwhile, North Branch entered their tilt with Grand Rapids with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. North Branch claimed a resounding 28-0 win over Grand Rapids at home. The result was nothing new for North Branch, who have now won six matches by 20 points or more so far this season.
North Branch got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Minke out in front who rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. Minke was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 59 yards. Another player making a difference was Carter Drill, who rushed for 141 yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Hermantown to 7-3 and North Branch to 8-1.
Hermantown came up short against North Branch when the teams last played back in September, falling 28-21. Can Hermantown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
