Baseball Game Preview: North Linn Lynx vs. Cascade Cougars

The North Linn Lynx will head out to face off against the Cascade Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Cascade will be up against a hot North Linn team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Lynx never let Calamus-Wheatland get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Thursday. Fans of the Lynx have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cascade). They put the hurt on Northeast with a sharp 14-0 win on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Cougars with their most commanding win of the season.

North Linn's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Cascade, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

North Linn was able to grind out a solid victory over Cascade in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, winning 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lynx since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
