Schurr got themselves on the board against Alhambra on Friday, but Alhambra never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Moors 56-0. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won four games by 26 points or more so far this season.

Mateo Carrasco had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 197 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Schurr is undefeated when Carrasco posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. Jacob Torres was another key player, throwing for 182 yards and three TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes.

Schurr didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Alhambra to a completion percentage of just 27.3%. The team can thank Alberto Chavez for the heroic effort on defense: he. Schurr wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 81.2%.

The victory was the third in a row for Schurr, bringing their record up to 5-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.7 points on average over those games. As for Alhambra, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Schurr will venture away from home to take on Montebello at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will be up against the Oilers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.13 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Alhambra, they will head out to face off against San Gabriel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
