Softball Recap: Cherry Creek Wins Going Away Against Arapahoe

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Eaglecrest, Cherry Creek was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They blew past the Arapahoe Warriors 17-7. The result was nothing new for the Bruins, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Paloma Heshmati made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in October of 2024.

In other batting news, Olivia McDermott was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Harper Bostock was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Cherry Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. They are 8-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Cherry Creek's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Arapahoe, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-10.

Cherry Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Arapahoe, they will venture away from home to challenge Pine Creek at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
