Softball Recap: Forge Christian Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Forge Christian and Alamosa squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Forge Christian had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Mean Moose by a score of 9-8. The Fury's defeat signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.

Devyn Haines put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Forge Christian's loss dropped their record down to 22-4. As for Alamosa, their victory bumped their record up to 16-10.

Forge Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Alamosa, they will take on Wellington at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Mean Moose surely won't give up without a fight.
