Softball Recap: McCook Comes Up Short

McCook extended their losing streak to eight on Thursday, dropping them down to 6-20. They came up short against the Pius X Thunderbolts, falling 9-0. The Bison were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunderbolts apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

As for Pius X, their win bumped their record up to 13-16. Considering they have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Pius X's part, Kendal Heimes was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Scheef, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.

McCook does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pius X, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-0 victory against Douglas County West/Concordia on the 9th.
