Soccer Game Preview: Carlsbad vs. Roswell

The Carlsbad Cavemen/Cavegirls will head out on the road to square off against the Roswell Coyotes at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Carlsbad's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Carlsbad's offense. They came up short against Clovis on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Roswell faced Hobbs in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Coyotes lost 6-0 to the Eagles. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, Roswell's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Roswell's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Carlsbad, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Carlsbad suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Roswell when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Cavemen/Cavegirls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
