Soccer Game Preview: Vista vs. Sage Creek

Vista is 2-8 against Sage Creek since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Vista take on the Sage Creek at 7:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Vista came up short against San Dieguito Academy on Wednesday, falling 6-1. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 927th, while the Mustangs are ranked 97th).

Meanwhile, Sage Creek kept a clean sheet against Oceanside on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pirates, sneaking past 1-0. The win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won three in a row.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-14. As for Vista, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-12.
