Softball Recap: Grand Island Takes a Loss

Grand Island's last matchup with North Platte could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Saturday. The Islanders lost 7-0 to the Bulldogs. The Islanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grand Island saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liliana Ascencion, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Grand Island's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for North Platte, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season.

Grand Island wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-0 defeat against Norris on the 27th. As for North Platte, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-3 loss against Lincoln East on the 27th.
