Baseball Recap: Carlisle Extends Winning Streak to Three

Carlisle came out on top against Bishop McDevitt on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Bison took their contest against the Crusaders 7-4. The game was the first time the Bison have beaten the Crusaders on their field since May 9, 2022.

Isaiah Ream was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those doubles were his first of the season. Owen Vioral was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Carlisle kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.2 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 9.4.

The victory (which was Carlisle's third in a row) raised their record to 5-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Bishop McDevitt, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Looking ahead, Carlisle will venture away from home to challenge Northern York at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bishop McDevitt, they will host Palmyra at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
