Football Recap: Standing Bear Takes a Loss

Standing Bear came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by the Skutt Catholic SkyHawks 42-7. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the SkyHawks are ranked 18th).

Hayden Holdren threw for 54 yards and one TD.

Conor Mogensen went supernova For Skutt Catholic., throwing for 144 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes, while also rushing for 53 yards on only five carries. Those 53 rushing yards gave Mogensen a new career-high. Nathan Christensen was another key player, picking up 75 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Standing Bear's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Skutt Catholic, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.
