Preview: St. Thomas Academy Cadets vs. Jefferson Jaguars

The St. Thomas Academy Cadets will square off against the Jefferson Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Thomas Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Jefferson likes a good challenge.

St. Thomas Academy stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They breezed by Two Rivers at home to the tune of 47-14. St. Thomas Academy pushed the score to 47-7 by the end of the third, a deficit Two Rivers cut but never quite recovered from.

Savion Hart was on fire: he rushed for 220 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Hart is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last nine games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Niko Vargas, who rushed for 83 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries.

Meanwhile, Jefferson had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.4 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Saturday. They secured a 17-13 W over Apple Valley.

Jefferson can attribute much of their success to Jonathan Weber, who rushed for 180 yards and a touchdown.

St. Thomas Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.5 points per game. As for Jefferson, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
