Football Game Preview: Palo Alto Vikings vs. Los Gatos Wildcats

Palo Alto hasn't had much luck against Los Gatos recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Vikings will head out to challenge the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m.

On Saturday, Palo Alto came up short against Sacred Heart Prep and fell 28-21. While the Vikings had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Gators 14-7.

Justin Fung put forth a good effort for the losing side as he threw for 166 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Jake Wang also deserves some recognition as he hauled in his first receiving touchdown of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Los Gatos). They took their matchup on Thursday with ease, bagging a 56-13 victory over Menlo-Atherton. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won four in a row.

Palo Alto better keep an eye on Grayson Doslak. He was instrumental in Los Gatos' win, rushing for 105 yards and a pair of scores. Doslak showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 61 yards. Los Gatos also got help from Beau Musser, who showed off his sure hands for 86 receiving yards.

Los Gatos was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 249 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Menlo-Atherton only rushed for 85.

Los Gatos' victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Palo Alto, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Palo Alto was taken down by Los Gatos 44-6 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Vikings were down 37-0.
