Softball Game Preview: Gilmer Bobcats vs. Trion Bulldogs

The Gilmer Bobcats will square off against the Trion Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

On Thursday, Gilmer didn't have quite enough to beat Coahulla Creek and fell 6-5. The Bobcats haven't had much luck with the Colts recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Jaylee McDaniel stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 3-for-4 with two triples and two RBI. Brenlee Daniel was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Trion took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Armuchee, sneaking past 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since August 10, 2024.

Having lost for the first time this season, Gilmer fell to 2-1. As for Trion, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
