Football Game Preview: Greenville Lions vs. Corsicana Tigers + Official Tickets

The Greenville Lions are taking a road trip to face off against the Corsicana Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenville is looking for their season's first victory.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Lions on Thursday. Greenville lost 28-8 to Ennis. While losing is never fun, Greenville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 695th, while Ennis is ranked 187th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Corsicana, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in September. They put the hurt on Poteet with a sharp 49-28 win on Friday. The Tigers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Greenville better keep an eye on Kevin Pointer Jr. He was instrumental in Corsicana's win, throwing for 346 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per attempt. Kenan Murphy handled things on the ground, rushing for 105 yards.

Greenville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Corsicana, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Greenville came out on top in a nail-biter against Corsicana in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 16-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
