Baseball Recap: Bishop McDevitt Comes Up Short

Bishop McDevitt's last matchup with Red Land could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. The Crusaders lost 17-11 to the Patriots. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bishop McDevitt got a big performance out of Easton Comp, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Comp has become a key player for the Crusaders: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Vince Leoni, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Bishop McDevitt now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Red Land, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Bishop McDevitt will square off against rival Hershey at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Red Land is set to challenge their familiar foe Palmyra at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Patriots 4.1, the Cougars 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
