San Mateo is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They strolled past Wilcox with points to spare, taking the game 45-27. Given the Bearcats' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while the Chargers are ranked 611th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lynbrook, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They escaped with a win on Tuesday against Fremont by the margin of a single free throw, 31-30. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Firebirds: they've now won nine in a row.

Lynbrook's victory bumped their record up to 17-7. As for San Mateo, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-4.

San Mateo was taken down by Lynbrook 58-20 in their previous matchup back in November of 2018.
