Softball Recap: Northside Extends Winning Streak to Five

Northside strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Howard Huskies a 15-0 shutout. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-26), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Madi Burch made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Burch was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in September of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kadence Cooley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Hoffmeister, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Northside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Northside's victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northside will host Warner Robins at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Howard, they will welcome Rutland at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
