Football Recap: Make It Nine in a Row for Legacy Academy + How To Watch

It's playoff time, and Legacy Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They claimed a resounding 49-18 victory over the Loving Falcons. The Silverbacks' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Legacy Academy, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jay Lee, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

One reason for the win was Legacy Academy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 4.5 sacks. Jay Watts was especially locked on to Loving's QB and sacked him twice. Watts is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another thorn in Loving's side was Zachary Perea, who forced one fumble and made seven total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.

Although Loving took the loss, they still got scores from Rider Gonzalez and Brodie Allen.

The win (which was Legacy Academy's ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.1 points over those games. As for Loving, they moved to 8-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Legacy Academy will face off against Eunice at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Silverbacks will need to watch out since the Cardinals have now posted at least 31 points in their last five contests. Loving does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
