Football Recap: Streetsboro Piles Up the Points Against Woodridge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Streetsboro). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 56-14 win over the Woodridge Bulldogs. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 372nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Streetsboro's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marcus Council led the charge by rushing for 129 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine carries. What's more, Council posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Cox, who threw for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only eight passes.

Streetsboro didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Adrian Monroe and Dallas Morris. Morris has been hot recently, having posted at least one interception the last three times he's played.

Streetsboro has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.5 points over those games. As for Woodridge, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Streetsboro will face off against Ravenna at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Woodridge, they will take on Norton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' defense has only allowed 14.2 points per game this season, so the Bulldogs' offense will have their work cut out for them.
