Soccer Game Preview: AGWSR vs. Clear Lake

The AGWSR Cougars are taking a road trip to square off against the Clear Lake Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. AGWSR is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when AGWSR took on Humboldt on Monday. The Cougars came up short against the Wildcats, falling 5-1.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last game, Clear Lake made sure to put some goals up on the board against Charles City on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 6-1 margin over the Comets. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Clear Lake's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Clear Lake's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for AGWSR, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

AGWSR suffered a grim 7-2 defeat to Clear Lake in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
