While Newkirk's victory against Caney Valley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Trojans 8-7. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Newkirk's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Caney Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-6.

Coming up, Newkirk will host Stroud at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Caney Valley, they will head out to challenge Woodland at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
