Softball Recap: Elkhorn Victorious

Elkhorn was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Columbus Discoverers. The Antlers haven't had any issues with the Discoverers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Lexi Randles tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, Elkhorn saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Pearson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

The victory got Elkhorn back to even at 11-11. As for Columbus, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Elkhorn will be taking part in a tournament against Norfolk at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Antlers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Columbus, they will welcome Fremont at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
